General index to deeds-grantor, 1880-1970 [microform].

This index provides access to deeds using the name of the seller of the property. Information in the index includes name of grantor (seller); name of grantee (purchaser); kind of instrument other than deed, if any; volume number and page number where deed is recorded; date of deed and date deed was recorded (month, day, and year); and a short statement providing description and location of the property being transferred. Usually, if more than one grantor or grantee was involved in a transaction, only the first grantor or grantee was listed in the index.

Henry County, the thirty-first county formed in Kentucky, was created from Shelby County in 1798. It was named for Patrick Henry. New Castle is the county seat. There was a courthouse fire in 1804. The Henry County Clerk, whose duties are numerous and diverse, records and maintains various legal instruments and Fiscal Court records.
